Why can't I pay in cash?

I had such a great weekend!

On Friday night my daughter went to the sitter's overnight and my husband and I went out to meet some friends. This never happens! We went to a bar where there was this awesome band playing. They played a lot of songs by my boyfriend Mr. Jon Bon Jovi. Since my husband was there I got my drink on. I am usually the designated driver because I rarely drink. The alcohol really helped in being an excellent painkiller because I was on the dance floor for hours. My feet were swelling, my ankles got huge, but those freakin dance moves...watch out Mr. Travolta! It was a much needed night of forgetting my troubles.

Saturday morning comes and I feel fine. Just a smidge tired but as we have established in previous posts...I have rheumatoid arthritis... I'm ALWAYS tired.

Saturday night we go over to a good friends for an outdoor picnic. First let me start about the food! You know how every town has your chain grocery stores. Up here in NE we have Big Y, Stop n Shop, Star Market for my Boston peeps. And every town has the one little small mom and pop store that's significant to that town. Well a friend of ours does the cooking at this small grocery store in town. So this party he had, I was soooo there. I think I ate constantly for hours and still did not try everything. And hey we're at a party so out come the Mike's lemonade and cranberry. Those my friend are dangerous. They taste just like the sparkling limeade and pomegranate soda I have been downing all week. Needless to say it was another night of not having a care in the world! I don't think I've laughed so hard in months.

Now as I reread the above I realize what a lush I sound like. I would like to state for the record that the above behavior is not typical for me.

Sunday comes around and I am still feeling good. We have a family birthday party we have to go to and I have hydrated myself and there is no hangover in sight.

Then at about 6pm I hit a wall. Suddenly the swollen limbs I ignored looked like tree trunks. Fingers and toes, small sausages. Exhaustion, was worse than pushing for an hour and a half when I was in labor with my daughter. I go home, put my feet up, and it got worse. Then at 9 I take my methotrexate (which to all my non RA readers is my chemo).

Monday I have pain. I try to sleep but it hurts. So much inflammation my skin is on fire. I have a sunburn and I didn't even go outside. I have to use my cane around the house which I never do. The remote to the t.v. is to heavy to hold so the channel I watch...TLC. All freakin day. I am nauseous, dizzy, and I know the thought "I'll never drink again just God get me through this" crossed my mind.

So now I am paying for my fun. I just think it's rude my body makes me pay this way when I know it so well. I mean complete strangers in the store say to me "cash, check, or charge". Why can't I pay in cash?
